Today, for the first time in days, I read a few lines. Hart Crane’s “Chaplinesque”—perhaps I was led there by a recent visit to my father’s birthplace in Ohio. Perhaps us looking at grave stones. Or there is a yellow thread that runs from Lake Eerie to the Ohio River and beyond. Or some thing weird and strange that I have not been able to hold quite yet.
